On Monday December 23, 2024, MELVILLE DACOSTA CALLENDER of #105 Diamond Avenue, Rock Dundo Park, Cave Hill, St. Michael died peacefully at age 95.
He was a lifelong and proud Alumni of Harrison College and appreciated teacher of many at Foundation Boys School and Bishop High School in Tobago. Loving son of the late Isadora Chase, Beloved husband of the late Joy Callender; Dearest brother of John Chase, the late Wendell Callender and the late Jennifer Johnson.
Dear Brother-in-law of Dorothy Chase and the late Eileen Callender; Cherished uncle and great uncle of many in the UK. Cousin of Marguerite Daniel; Relative of the Callender and Hayward families in St Martins, St Philip, the UK, USA and Guyana; Close friend of Jean Springer, Pat Callender, Mr and Mrs Vernon Smith, Mrs Goddard and others in Barbados, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.
The funeral of the late Melville Dacosta Callender leaves Paramount Funeral Home, Upper Hindsbury Road, St. Michael on Saturday February 8, 2025 at 8:30 am for Christ The King Anglican Church, Rock Dundo, Cave Hill, St. Michael where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 am for the service of Praise and Thanksgiving to celebrate his life. The cortege will then proceed to the Frangipani Lawns of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens, The Ridge, Christ Church for the Interment. The Organist and members of the Church Choir are kindly asked to attend. Flowers may be sent to Paramount Funeral Home no later than 8:15 am on Saturday February 8, 2025 Saturday February 8, 2025
